Katkari Tribe ( Pvtgs ,Primitive ,Particularly vulnerable tribal group) - A katkari woman with a baby goat in her hand which itself means they are into animal rearing activities for their livelihood. She has worn a typical black bead necklace which is a symbol of married women. A round tops and small bindi (dot/tikka) is as same as other tribal women’s tradition. Her clothing style is different from many tribes from Maharashtra. She wore blouse and sari. But her sari ends at her waist. The tribal consider goats as a part of their families and hence they make provision to tie them in the house . Animal Husbandry - A Part of Livelihood - Animal Husbandry is an essential part of a tribal life . Besides banking on agriculture produce , vegetables grown in kitchen garden and on farms , minor forest produce collected from forest and daily wages earned in off agriculture season , tribal livelihood also depends on the live stock they posses . Livestock such as bulls , cows , buffaloes , goats , pigs , chicken etc . are owned by tribal . The progressive and land holders use livestock for different purposes .
