Madia Tribe ( sub tribe of Gond ) - Maharashtra - This Madia women is busy in catching fish. The fish catch is an activity practiced by human since ages. In case of Madia it pass from one generation to another. She told me that she fixes this trap in the night and catch fish in the morning. This task she performs 3-4 times in a week. This cone shaped fish trap is made by her tribe and very common among them. A bamboo basket is also woven by Madia in their free time. This woman is wearing minimum ornaments in which her style of wearing ear-rings is different from other tribes. She has covered her upper body part with sari and not wearing blouse. In the picture it is clearly seen that fish catch activity they perform nearby ponds or small water reservoirs.
